"Mediterranean Garden in San Francisco" / CONCEPTUAL DESCRIPTION
In this project idea all the natural elements are mixed like in a typical mediterranean climate. Special importance was paid on those three elements: earth, water and vegetation.
As part of the element earth, are treated the rocks, grass and vegetation.
As part of the water element, is proposed a small stream of water, which descends from the ending wall (dressed in stone), like a waterfall and runs through the whole parcel. This stream is surrounded by tipic mediterranean rocks. To avoid excessive consumption of water, it is proposed recycling, as at fountains systems. So water is moveable and crosses the same way for an undefined time, without having to increase or diminish it.
As part of the vegetation element, are preserved the two olive trees that are currently on the ground. They will set up in level, a little more, and surrounded in their base by rocks. It is proposed planting grass (resistant to drought), surrounding parcels. It is also anticipated the planting of lavender and rosemary plant, as plants resistant to drought.
Through all this natural composition is proposed a pathway to be closer to nature. This passage crosses diagonally the parcel and is dressed with stone slabs. At the part where water passed over, is thought a wooden bridge.
