a. I want to combine my existing kitchen (roughly 8x 12) and office (roughly 12 x 8) into a new kitchen and hobby space. This will require removal of a wall- which appears to be non-weight bearing.
b. Existing conidtion is fine, except the space is too small- everythingin the current kitchen will need to be demolished and start from a clean slate. Likewise, the closet in the current office can be removed to make more space.

b. I would like a somewhat open design, but not too modern. The kithcen area will need to meld with the rest of the house, built in 1936.

a. The windows cannot be moved, nor can the doors/ openings. I would like to keep the hardwood floors. There is a small alcove in the current office that may be a good area for herb plants. The large window in th ecurrent offic is only 30 in from the floor, so no counter tops there.
