This project offers an opportunity to assist us to remodel our existing kitchen. Our home is a 100 year old Queenslander in North Eastern Australia. The kitchen overlooks beautiful Magnetic Island and we want to maximise the outside space within the kitchen.
The centre island bench contains our hotplates (gas).
We can consider completely gutting the kitchen or we can utilise some of the cupboards and benches we already have within the kitchen.
We need to accommodate our large fridge (W: 930mm x D: 830mm)
We want to modernise our kitchen with the view that we may sell our home.
So whilst we are happy to spend to fix up the kitchen, we do not want to overspend.
We like the use of space within the kitchen and it is a central point for our family home.
Remove the air-conditioner (wall unit).
We would like to remove the current louvre windows and potentially make the window space larger, with a bifold window (or alternative) to maximise the external space.
The doorway to the verandah can be extended.
I like lots of bench space and cupboards.
We are happy for the space to be modernised and we also quite like the idea of a theme within the kitchen (eg. exposed brick look - with wallpaper etc).
We want to keep the polished timber floor boards
