I am remodeling this house (inside and out). My first objective is to remodel the exterior of the house. I already have exterior drawings of the house from a previous Arcbazar project and have included those drawings in the Project Files. The drawings depict a close representation of the actual redesign; however, I have made modification to size and number of windows on the south and west sides of the house. For those modifications, view the house pictures and the window and frame dimension photos in the Project Files folder. I have also included the original blueprint drawings (pdf files) for the house.
Thus far, I have installed a new roof, many of the new windows, and removed most of the old siding. I have selected Fiber Cement (CertainTeed) lap siding (6" exposure) with a Cedar Stain for the new siding (See Sample Photo in Project Files) instead of the wood cedar lap siding shown in the design drawings . And I have chosen a deep forest green for the trim board color (See Sample Photo in Project Files); however, I am open to other trim color suggestions if offered any.
My objective for this project is a design for the exterior wall trim boards and upper and lower deck trim. The design should enhance the architectural character of the house and complement the appearance of the cedar stained lap siding.
Please include thickness and width dimensions for all trim boards with your design.
The house is located in Prescott Arizona, and it has mountain views of the national forest from both the south side and west side windows, and from upper and lower decks located on the south side. The house was built in 1985 and has never been updated.
