Interior design of a general-purpose "family room". The carpet and one entire wall were just removed due to water damage. For the next 15 years the room will serve primarily as a "play room" for toddlers to teens. It does not require any electronics.
The room will hold one queen-size sleeper sofa and one or two "furniture-quality" cabinets with closing doors for storage. Both of these will be purchased new as part of this project. The cabinets should be 30" deep, 7' tall and 7' wide. The sleeper sofa should be a higher quality item because the emphasis will be on the sleeping experience.
We anticipate a combination of wall covering to include paint and high-quality wallpaper.
On one 13' "wall" is a sliding door to a brick patio. This needs an appropriate curtain or other form of coverage. We want some interesting options here using coverage styles that might be different than simple curtains. For example, it could be a combination of levoler blinds and curtains. This would facilitate, for instance, an attractive total covering but also allow for great control of the amount of inbound light during the day.
Other parts of the home have medium oak wood furniture / baseboard accents.
