We are looking to make Improvements to landscaping surrounding the property.
The front yard already has existing landscaping and armour stone/gardens. The front-most garden needs more substance to it. We are looking for ideas to accentuate or improve the appearance of the front gardens, whether from plantings, or changes in layout. We would consider modifying the existing beds, but will not move stonework.
Also we are looking for suggestions on how to light the front of the property at night to make the front appearance of the house and gardens 'pop'. We are planning to add accent lighting around both the front and rear of the property.
We would like suggestions, ideas for improving the walkway along the side of the house back to the rear yard. Again we cannot modify the stone wall. We are looking for suggestions to improve the look of this space.
We are also looking for lighting ideas here as well.
The Backyard has a large 2 level deck and hot tub, an existing shed and a Pool area with armour stone wall surround as seen in the photos. I feel although some of these elements are nice on their own, they don't appear to tie together well. We want to be able bring all components together to make the entire space, serene, beautiful and inviting.
In the backyard, we could add more stone, planting beds, plants, features, to help blend it all together. We would like to hide the fence line and create more privacy from the structures in the neighbours yard. The ultimate goal is to give the pool a nicer backdrop. The tall trees along the property line must stay, but due to their height, the space between the underside of their canopy and the ground needs some 'filling' that will survive under the shade of those trees and look natural in the space.
We would like to create another small seating area for a firepit or a fireplace but we need it to integrate into the landscape. We would consider modifying the existing deck if the design lent itself to doing so.
Mostly looking to improve the overall look of the rear yard, the pool, tying the deck into the pool and into the surrounding area, and maintaining a real natural look. open to any design ideas.
Once landscaping is done, we would also like a lighting plan that would allow us to highlight the trees and other features in the yard.
Current condition of yard is excellent. Large maples and oak trees shade much of the yard in the summer. Sunniest area is the deck and areas closest to the house.
This is ontario climate, so quite warm through the summer and snow in the winter. We like the spa, natural feel but dont want to get too 'country' with the design.
