I have a good idea of what I'd like to do with my front yard and house facade so what I'm looking for is color design drawings with suggestions to pull it all together:
I do not mind removing the current plants and trees as well as some of the hardscaping in front of the cypress tree
I'm attaching photos of the facade and front yard and planters as they exist.
I have ordered a custom Pendant lighting fixture designed to hang from the arch above the front door. (see sample picture, note, the globe I ordered is 18 inches in circumference hanging from a spindle that is powder coated black to match the windows and side sconces. It will hang slightly above the existing wall light above the door. (see Pic fir example)
The ironwork is not finished but will be the same design as the railing on the balcony. I'm open to suggestions as to color the iron could be painted, keeping with the black window trim, sconces and pendant light.
Front Door: As much as I love this old Mid century door, I feel should be replaced with a taller door to match the height of the 8ft La Cantina doors and the new casement windows I had installed. It would be nice for the front door to have a window (see attached pics I like) Also, include suggestions for matching hardware. Or if you think I could use a standard size door without messing up the design, I'd be open to suggestions. I'd like to avoid it because I will have to replace the header to install a taller door. I'm open to suggestions. Also, this particular door is very wide. I believe the house was originally ADA compliant.
Planters: The cost to replace or concrete the planters is substantial so I'd like to have them painted grey. Same with the brick accents next to the Garage door. I've posted some examples of the color of brick I'd like to explore.
Garage door: The garage door in the picture is new and made of ipe, same as the side gates on each side of the house. I do not like the segregated panes in the windows and was planning to take those off and install new laminated glass. How would that look?
Side door next to Garage: I was thinking it would be nice to replace this door: I was thinking a shaker style glass door or I'm open to suggestions.
Landscaping: I'd like to plant succulents in the front planters. (see landscaping examples) Also, I'd like to remove the hardscaping where the cypress tree is on the left and replace it with a trash can storage area with gates made from the same IPE wood as the garage door, however the cinder blocks and brick front need to remain in tact. (Neighbors!) (See examples)
Driveway: The plan is to replace the drive way with modern style pavers or poured concrete. I've posted examples. I will have to re-scape the area where the cypress tree is removed with a slope to roll the trash cans into the gates space. I'd like to replace the cypress tree with non spreading black bamboo as well as the tree on the opposite side near balcony. See examples of Trash Can storage. One note, we need to use the cinderblock wall and the bricks on the front. Wood can be added onto of the bricks for height.
Exterior of house: Currently the exterior is a painted stucco. I was considering having smooth stucco replace what is currently there as I like the look. However I'm now thinking it would be nice to cover the old stucco with Rainscreen Cement fiber Board ( see photos). I like white for the house color. Also, does it make sense to place the cement board over the grooved boards on the facade. I'd like to see what designs you come up with.
Once again, all I'm looking for is renderings and suggestions to pull it all together.
