This is a very creative design, well done! I like how you created separate spaces, without just closing off walls. I think the kitchen/dining area is too big and spacious for my needs. One of my goals was to reduce the size of this area significantly since it is only an occasional use area for parties or guests. Also, it would have been nice for the bedroom to be connected to a bathroom.
A very nice design IF we don't consider the aesthetics of the front of the house. I would have liked to see what the front of the house would look like. the space created is great but I can't imagine the exterior aesthetics working
The pass through Dr. Office and business space behind the reception area works very well. Great use of space.
Really liked it, but the fact there was not a walk around (hall way) the stairs made a difference. Liked the flow. The open when you came down the stairs was a good idea. Thoughtful access to technical room. It was really close, but you were 4th.
Your design is beautiful and had most of the elements that we were looking for as far as use of space and functionality. The floor plan was very well detailed and the aesthetics really reflected my taste. We are already building the kitchen and I can't wait to see the final result. However, I wish you have provided more 3d graphic material, showing all angles of the project. There were a lot of details that I had to guess from your design, or the contractor I'm working with had to create for me on his own. In fact, it would have been great if you had reached out to me during the competition to ask for my feedback while you were working in the project. That way I think we could have finished with a more ready-to-execute project. We made some changes to adequate to our needs and/or accommodate some costs that I didn't have budget for. Overall I think it will be a great kitchen once finished. Thanks and congrats!
This design has lots of cool ideas. The materials submitted were very professional and easy to follow. I really like having the work area in the space to the left of the TV. I think that is the best spot for my current layout. The pullout bed is a very interesting idea. I worry about having both the TV wall and pullout bed wall with all the shelving. It seems like it would take away a good amount of the space in that room. I may just opt to have the TV wall with shelving, and use a pullout couch for the sleeping option for guests, reducing the footprint of all the shelving. I really like the way the bedroom looks. It's simple, clean, and tranquil. I really like the colors. It's just what I'm looking for. I will probably add a rug in there as well. The pivot door is a good idea. The kitchen counters and cabinets look nice. I am not a big fan of the bar setup. It looks more like a standard kitchen island. I want it to have a feeling of a real bar area. This design has lots of great ideas. Definitely in my top 3.
Best submission. Not too sure about the dark cabinets or back splash but met all of the criteria we specifies.
This design was unique in providing the most storage options in an easy to construct manner. However, the focus on storage especially the full-height shelving on either side of the kitchen might make the small space feel more constricting than it already is. Perhaps going with floating shelves throughout or open back shelves by the door to the front room would have opened up the space more while still providing the unifying element the design aims for. Also, while the uniformity of all the open shelves is aesthetically appealing, it may not provide the diversity of storage options (particularly closed storage or closet space) that a renter in this small unit might desire. I very much appreciated the sourcing of elements and appliances and found the sliding door in the bathroom a great way to save space without compromising function.
1) The design is very creative and innovative but a bit plain and cold. 2) Also I want to make sure there is division between the beds and work spaces so if a child is up later than the others the light does not shine into the other spaces. 3) Please work on lighting as well.
Thank you but we are concerned with echo while talking on the phone and the desk facing the wall. My wife says it has more of a younger feel. Page 0-2 are less 'pretty' than the competition.
Cost Effective. bar places where less plumbing required. Basement isn't very open with this design, workout room seems closed off from everything
Thank you! This is the only design that followed the directions to "digitize" the photo that I submitted.
