I want to transform my backyard into an expansion of my living area with lots of sitting areas and plants. My backyard is currently barren with some misplaced plants. I have a sloping backyard, an old garden box that needs to be converted to something else (will not plant a garden), and a shaded hill in the very back. I would like to utilize all of the space including the shaded areas. My fence has a gated entrance on 2 sides of the sunroom. I would like to be able to look out over a peaceful area from the sunroom.
I want to have a pergola erected, an area for 6-pc dining, a large conversational/sitting area (seat 6-8), small area for a 2 seat bistro, small grill area, and several benches. I would like a walkway along the back fence with seating areas. Incorporate a fairly large water feature that can be visible from most areas of the backyard and a couple of water fountains. Optional space for a firepit with conversation set around it (seat 4). Absolutely no grassed areas but paved and plants. Include landscape lights and sprinkler system position. Currently have 2 Japanese Maples about 6 ft h 4 ft w that I would like to keep/move. They will grow to 10ft h. Please include inviting entrance from main gate.
Please provide layout, material suggestions, and a variety of plant suggestions for Atlanta area hardiness to present to landscapers. Provide plan view and topview if possible.
I will select the design that is able to utilize as much of the space as possible incorporating the seating areas and plants.
Note the general feel that I have been tracking in my landscape Houzz ideabook.
